The Committee to Support U.S. Trade Laws today submitted comments in support of the regulation proposed by the U.S. Department of Commerce (“Commerce”) and intended to strengthen the accountability of attorney and non-attorney representatives appearing in Commerce proceedings. The proposed regulation is modeled on that of the International Trade Commission, which, in the experience of CSUSTL members and their counsel, has worked well in encouraging increased accountability of proceeding participants. CSUSTL strongly supports Commerce’s efforts to maintain and augment the integrity of its proceedings as well as to discourage misconduct by participants.
